About The Guest List
Research, analysis and playbooks for the people who run B2B events and answer for what they produce.
The Guest List covers the business of hosted B2B events: the dinners, roundtables, user conferences and field programs that companies run to build relationships with the people who buy from them.
Our readers are field marketers, event marketers, demand generation leads and the marketing and revenue operations teams who sit behind them. They are measured on pipeline, asked to prove what a room was worth, and handed a new AI tool every quarter. We write for them.
What we cover
- AI at Work. How AI applies to the day-to-day work of running events, with the steps, the prompts and the checks a person still has to make.
- Measurement. Attribution, event ROI and the gap between what teams believe events produce and what their systems record.
- The Room. Event formats, attendance, no-shows and the shift toward smaller hosted events.
- Data and CRM. The records underneath every event report, and what happens when they are wrong.
- The Business. Budgets, headcount, the trade show market and the conversations with finance that decide what gets funded.
We also publish original research syntheses, starting with The State of Field Marketing 2026.
Editorial standards
Every number has a named source. Statistics are cited inline with the source and year, and every article ends with a list of links so readers can check our work. If we cannot trace a figure to a dated primary source, we do not use it.
Vendor research is labeled. Much of the best data in this field comes from companies that sell event, marketing or sales software. We use it, and we say when a figure comes from a vendor so readers can weigh it.
Forecasts are labeled as forecasts. Predictions are never presented as measured results.
No invented people. We do not create composite practitioners or unattributed anecdotes. Quotes come from named people in published sources. When we use a hypothetical example to explain an idea, we say so.
Different studies stay separate. When two figures come from different samples or methods, we do not add them together or present them as a trend.
Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change at the end of the article. Send corrections to the address below.
Who publishes The Guest List
The Guest List is published by Socially, a New York company that builds software connecting hosted-event attendance to CRM pipeline. We think readers should know that.
Most of our articles do not mention Socially. When one does, it describes only what the product does today, and the article stands on its own without it. Socially does not pay for or commission the research we cite, and no one can pay to be covered.
The artwork on this site is generative illustration made for The Guest List. It depicts ideas, not real events or data.
